Assistant Fire Chief Robert Shick - Walnuttown Fire and Rescue - Pennsylvania

On April 4, 2026, members of the Walnuttown Fire and Rescue were assisting other fire departments and rescue teams in searching for a missing 60-year-old female.

Assistant Chief Robert Shick of the Walnuttown Fire and Rescue was assisting in the search and was in a UTV traveling on the shoulder of a road.  He was accompanied by Fire Chief Jeff Buck.  While traveling in the UTV, a passing Toyota Camry approached from the opposite direction, swerved leaving the road, and then struck the UTV head-on.

The driver and the passenger of the Camry fled the scene after the accident and was later apprehended.

Assistant Chief Robert Shick was killed in the accident.  Our prayers and condolences to Chief Shick's family at home as well as with the Walnuttown Fire and Rescue.
